Dungeon Exiles 0.4.0: The Awakening


Hello everyone, how's it going? Today I have the largest update Dungeon Exiles has ever seen! This is patch 0.4.0 and I've called it: The Awakening! Stick around and you'll see why.

What's new?

New Floor 1, 2 and 3

So as part of Dungeon Exiles 0.4.0, all of the floors have been rethemed and renamed, like so:

Floor One: The Necropolis Depths -> The Fallen Gate of Azamar

Floor Two: The Frostbitten Catacombs -> The Burial Grounds

Floor Three: The Cursed Crypt -> The Halls of Pestilence

The idea is that I wanted to maintain a more consistent theming and logical progression between the floors.

New Art and Enemies

So as part of having all new floors I have redone the art for all of the enemies, however you'll notice that regular enemies have been upgraded to 64x64 and bosses have been upgraded to 128x128. Due to the amount of enemies I will just be showing off the bosses here:

The Dread Marshal of the Fallen Gate of Azamar
The Grave Warden of the Burial Grounds
The Spider Queen of the Halls of Pestilence

New Traits and Synergies

The last new major change in Dungeon Exiles: The Awakening is the introduction of the new traits and synergies system! You may know where this is going if you've played games like Team Fight Tactics. But anyway, almost every single skill now has a trait, and upon hovering over it you can see the synergy bonuses you can unlock with each trait. For example, here is the Cyromancer trait for the Mage:


To view your current passives and traits you can click the book icon or press "S" to view your skillbook:


Closing Words

So as part of the new traits and synergies update, currently the Rogue and Paladin are unavailable as I need to finish working on them, but hopefully, they should be returning soon(tm). Thank you for reading and hopefully I'll see you in the next post!
